In Northern Virginia the company's research and development team includes the original inventors of VirnetX security technology.  This team continues to develop innovative methods in the seamless automation of network security and is developing a new network security product suite based upon and extending the patented VirnetX Security Platform™ (VSP) technologies. The vision is centered on the concept of empowering everyday users; including home users, as well as small, medium and large companies and organizations to define and administer their own secure private domains within the larger public Internet.

Conventional secure network enclaves are defined by the compartmentalizing of physical networks, using routers and firewalls to protect private networks from unauthorized access from the public Internet. The developing product suite enables individuals and organizations to define secure network enclaves, or Secure Private Domains (SPD), not by their physical connectivity and firewall gateways, but by cryptographic virtual private network (VPN) peer-to-peer connections that support multiple services such as chat, voice, video, file sharing and, remote desktop and backup among others.

The VirnetX Security Platform™ will also provide application developers an easy way to secure all network communication from their offerings without developing their own security infrastructure.
